CEO Steve Huffman says tech giants should not be able to trawl Reddit\u2019s huge store of data for free. But that information came from users, not the company<\/p>\n

Like Wikipedia, Reddit<\/a> is one of the wonders of the online world. Its founders once described it as \u201cthe front page of the internet\u201d, which is perhaps a bit hyperbolic but not entirely wide of the mark. It is, after all, the 11th most visited<\/a> website in the world (and the sixth most visited in the US). Many of my friends, colleagues, acquaintances and contacts use it every day, and for some it is their favourite online site.<\/p>\n

If this comes as a surprise to you, then here\u2019s what you need to know. Reddit is basically a bulletin board on steroids. It\u2019s a news-aggregation, content and discussion website.<\/p>\n
