Actually, video games have always been queer.<\/p>\n<p>This is the title of a very informative <a href=\"https:\/\/nyupress.org\/9781479831036\/video-games-have-always-been-queer\/#:~:text=Video%20Games%20Have%20Always%20Been%20Queer%20argues%20that%20the%20medium,only%20now%20becoming%20more%20diverse.\">book from Bo Ruberg<\/a>, which investigates the ways in which LGBTQ+ themes show up in games. Was there anything remotely gay about Pong, Tetris, Sonic or Call of Duty? Ruberg would argue that there is \u2013 but in 2023, we don\u2019t have to read queerness into video games.
