The home-computer generation of players are now in their 40s and 50s, and as we get older, we\u2019re spending more time down memory lane. Who wouldn\u2019t want to replay the classics of their youth on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2017\/sep\/28\/nintendo-classic-mini-snes-review-fun-sized-reboot-of-greatest-ever-console-mario-yoshi-zelda\">mini versions<\/a> of the original <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/games\/2019\/sep\/19\/sega-mega-drive-mini-review-a-legacy-truly-honoured\">consoles<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/games\/2022\/apr\/12\/a500-mini-commodore-amiga-review\">computers<\/a>, or even on a phone?<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ZX_Spectrum\">ZX Spectrum<\/a> \u2013 released in 1982 \u2013 had only eight basic colours, a rubber keyboard and 48K of RAM (your 4GB RAM phone has nearly 90,000 times more); nonetheless, some still view it like others view the Beatles. Games such as Manic Miner, Chuckie Egg and Atic Atac were truly original, unlike anything seen before.
