In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vittlesmagazine.com\/p\/cooking-for-sylvia-four-recipes-by\">recent edition<\/a>, I discovered a captivating Korean suffix. \u201cThere are no thoughts, just <em>meong<\/em>, the suffix in Korean used for activities of staring into stillness, like <em>bull meong<\/em> \u2013 staring into the fire,\u201d wrote the author, Songsoo Kim, in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vittlesmagazine.com\/p\/cooking-for-sylvia-four-recipes-by\">beautiful article<\/a> with recipes about preparing a feast that I would dearly love to eat, but absolutely will not cook.<\/p>\n<p>As a black belt starer into stillness \u2013 it\u2019s my other favourite hobby \u2013 this spoke to me deeply. I asked Kim about it and she explained meong (also written <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/health\/behavior\/hitting-mung-south-korean-wellness-trend-beat-stress-rcna11096\">mung<\/a><\/em>)<em> <\/em>is colloquially used to describe zoning out, but without a negative connotation.
