They died long ago, in 1943, during the second world war, but they weren\u2019t lost in battle. They died of starvation in Bengal. I knew nothing about this, and from the start, <em>Three Million\u2019s<\/em> presenter, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/profile\/kavita-puri\">Kavita Puri<\/a>, careful and dogged, makes it clear that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2020\/oct\/21\/archive-1943-the-famine-in-bengal\">the Bengal famine<\/a> is rarely discussed.
