A US court on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit claiming Elon Musk<\/a> refused to pay at least $500m in severance to thousands of Twitter<\/a> employees he fired in mass layoffs after buying the social media company now known as X.<\/p>\n

US district judge Trina Thompson in San Francisco ruled on Tuesday that the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act (Erisa) governing benefit plans did not cover the former employees\u2019 claims, and therefore she lacked jurisdiction.<\/p>\n
