The Italian photographer got more than just lunch when his visit to a cafe turned into a self-portrait opportunity with a novel backdrop<\/p>\n

The hilltop Roman town of Vasto, in southern Abruzzo, overlooks the Adriatic Sea. Seen here is the view from the Loggia Amblingh, a path along the medieval walls that still stand today. Except,\u00a0that\u2019s not quite what is pictured.<\/p>\n

Davide Pitetti<\/a> was indeed in Vasto\u2019s old town; that morning he had completed a\u00a0wallpapering job for a\u00a0local client and he had stopped for his lunch in a small shopping centre. The image in the background is in fact hand-painted on the wall of the cafe.<\/p>\n
