It was coined by Clive Humby, the genius behind Tesco\u2019s loyalty card, <a href=\"https:\/\/ana.blogs.com\/maestros\/2006\/11\/data_is_the_new.html\">who argued<\/a> that data was \u201cjust like crude. It\u2019s valuable, but if unrefined it cannot really be used.
