Online safety legislation is \u201cunsatisfactory\u201d and \u201cuneven\u201d, the science secretary has said as he expressed hopes for parliament to learn to legislate faster on the issue.<\/p>\n

Peter Kyle said he had given a \u201cvery personal commitment to making sure that everybody \u2013 particularly people with vulnerabilities, and every child is vulnerable \u2013 has protection\u201d, after Ian Russell, whose daughter killed herself after viewing harmful content on social media, told Keir Starmer the UK was \u201cgoing backwards\u201d <\/a>on online safety.<\/p>\n
