Technology secretary Peter Kyle expresses fear of app being \u2018propaganda vehicle\u2019 but says it can deliver \u2018exhilaration\u2019 to users<\/p>\n

TikTok\u2019s power to deliver \u201cexhilaration\u201d and the UK\u2019s relationship with China are shaping the UK government\u2019s acceptance of the short video app despite \u201cgenuine concerns\u201d about how the data of millions of Britons may be used, the technology secretary has said.<\/p>\n

After the US courts upheld a law that could lead to the platform being banned or sold in the US, Peter Kyle told the Guardian: \u201cI am genuinely concerned about the ownership model of TikTok. I\u2019m genuinely concerned about their use of data, linked to the ownership model.\u201d<\/p>\n
