Survey of 1,000 students shows \u2018explosive increase\u2019 in use of generative AI in particular over past 12 months<\/p>\n

British universities have been warned to \u201cstress-test\u201d all assessments after new research revealed \u201calmost all\u201d undergraduates are using generative artificial intelligence<\/a> (genAI) in their studies.<\/p>\n

A survey of 1,000 students \u2013 both domestic and international \u2013 found there had been an \u201cexplosive increase\u201d in the use of genAI in the past 12 months. Almost nine out of 10 (88%) in the 2025 poll said they used tools such as ChatGPT for their assessments, up from 53% last year.<\/p>\n
