Christopher Tsai retains faith in carmaker\u2019s earnings potential despite backlash that has seen its shares take a hit<\/p>\n

A devoted investor in Elon Musk<\/a>\u2019s Tesla \u2013 and once a <\/strong>close childhood friend of the US president\u2019s eldest son and namesake \u2013 says he hopes the world\u2019s richest man\u2019s role in cutting federal spending for Donald Trump\u2019s administration is \u201cshort-lived\u201d and that he returns to managing his businesses.<\/p>\n

Investment manager Christopher Tsai, whose firm has tens of millions of dollars tied up in Tesla<\/a>, said the stock market had demonstrated clear signs of displeasure with Musk\u2019s activities at the so-called department of government efficiency. And, in an interview with the Guardian, Tsai said: \u201cI hope his involvement with [Doge] is short-lived so he can spend even more time on his businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n
