But that doesn\u2019t make it any less troubling now that boys are being similarly affected.<\/p>\n<p>In his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2025\/mar\/19\/gareth-southgate-rails-against-callous-toxic-influencers-in-dimbleby-lecture\">Richard Dimbleby lecture<\/a> for the BBC, Sir\u00a0Gareth Southgate made a cogent case that young men are being failed by modern society \u2013 not just by absent role models, but by a culture that doesn\u2019t acknowledge failure and vulnerability while exposing\u00a0them to damaging digital influences. Without\u00a0real-life guidance, they can withdraw, becoming reluctant to talk or unable to express their emotions.
