(It has just sold its two-millionth copy). It\u2019s a tempting narrative in this age of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/games\/2024\/oct\/30\/concord-collapses-and-firewalk-falls-capping-off-a-brutal-year-for-game-development\">blockbuster mega-flops<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/games\/2023\/nov\/08\/pushing-buttons-fortnite-og-event\">live-service games<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/games\/article\/2024\/sep\/11\/sonys-hero-shooter-concord-failed-spectacularly-heres-where-it-went-wrong\">eye-watering budgets<\/a>: scrappy team makes a lengthy, unusual and beautiful thing, sells it for \u00a340, and everybody wins.
