Alphabet\u2019s company found liable for making data transfers without permission while devices were idle<\/p>\n

A jury in San Jose, California, said on Tuesday that Google<\/a> misused customers\u2019 cellphone data and must pay more than $314.6m to Android smartphone users in the state, according to an attorney for the plaintiffs.<\/p>\n

The jury agreed with the plaintiffs that Alphabet<\/a>\u2019s Google was liable for sending and receiving information from the devices without permission while they were idle, causing what the lawsuit had called \u201cmandatory and unavoidable burdens shouldered by Android device users for Google\u2019s benefit\u201d.<\/p>\n
