US actors\u2019 union joins stars in opposition to Norwood, which it says was created \u2018using stolen performances\u2019<\/p>\n

The controversy around the \u201cAI actor\u201d Tilly Norwood continues to grow, after the actors\u2019 union Sag-Aftra condemned the development and said Norwood\u2019s creators were \u201cusing stolen performances\u201d.<\/p>\n

Sag-Aftra released a statement<\/a> after the AI \u201ctalent studio\u201d Xicoia unveiled its creation<\/a> at the Zurich film festival, prompting an immediate backlash from actors including Melissa Barrera, Mara Wilson and Ralph Ineson. Sag-Aftra said it believed creativity was, \u201cand should remain, human-centred. The union is opposed to the replacement of human performers by synthetics.\u201d<\/p>\n
