According to Polly Hudson (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2026\/mar\/22\/the-wordle-guys-latest-move-tells-us-a-lot-about-modern-day-ambition\">The Wordle guy\u2019s latest move tells us a lot about modern-day ambition, 22 March<\/a>), he now has the temerity to create another word game, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/games\/2026\/mar\/12\/parseword-wordle-creator-new-game-cryptic-crossword\">Parseword<\/a>, rather than kicking back on his yacht. Imagine if everyone who has a creative impulse kicked back after their first recognised achievement \u2013 if Michelangelo had kicked back after creating the Piet\u00e0, or Picasso had kicked back after Les Demoiselles d\u2019Avignon. Well done to Wardle, keep creating.<br \/><strong>Julius Pursaill<\/strong><br \/><em>London<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 It seems a little unfair to characterise Josh Wardle\u2019s new game as trying his luck again, equating it with naked ambition. It certainly seems out of kilter to be drawing parallels with that and the rampant egotism displayed recently by Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet. Wardle just strikes me as a bit of a word nerd and coder who likes making games.
