Google\u2019s Irish subsidiary has agreed to pay \u20ac218m (\u00a3183m) in back taxes to the Irish government, according to company filings<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The US tech company, which had been accused of avoiding hundreds of millions in tax across Europe through loopholes known as the \u201cdouble Irish, Dutch sandwich\u201d, said it had \u201cagreed to the resolution of certain tax matters relating to prior years\u201d.<\/p>\n
