Uber has swung its weight behind proposals from the London mayor, Sadiq Khan, for more road charges<\/a> as it unveiled plans to expand zero-emission cab services.<\/p>\n

The ride-hailing firm said it had more than doubled the number of electric vehicles (EVs) on its app in London to 5,000 in the past year, which will allow it to widen out its Uber Green service \u2013 where users can request only EV drivers \u2013 from the city centre to cover the whole of greater London in the spring.<\/p>\n
