But this sole performer in Uncanny Valley, by theatre company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rimini-protokoll.de\/website\/en\/\">Rimini Protokoll<\/a>, is not human. It is a lifelike animatronic model of the German writer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goethe.de\/ins\/th\/en\/kul\/sup\/soc\/mel.html\">Thomas Melle<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The show\u2019s director, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rimini-protokoll.de\/website\/en\/about-sk#:~:text=Stefan%20Kaegi%20creates%20documentary%20theatre,but%20have%20something%20to%20tell.\">Stefan Kaegi<\/a>, had seen animatronics used in museums, where he found there was not sufficient time for what he calls the \u201cempathy mechanism\u201d to kick in.
