House judiciary committee asks Merrick Garland to investigate whether retail giant obstructed Congress with misleading conduct<\/p>\n

Members of the Democratic-controlled House judiciary committee have referred Amazon to the Department of Justice, alleging \u201cpotentially criminal conduct\u201d by the company and some of its senior executives.<\/p>\n

In a letter to the attorney general, Merrick Garland, lawmakers claim that Amazon had engaged in a \u201cpattern and practice of misleading conduct that suggests\u201d it was acting to influence the committee\u2019s investigation into online market competition.<\/p>\n
