Is it responsible for the choices of its customers? What if it sells something that doesn\u2019t have a carbon footprint at all \u2013 until the second it\u2019s used?<\/p>\n<p>For some companies, flush with cash, the answer is easy enough. Microsoft, for instance, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2021\/nov\/27\/its-critical-can-microsoft-make-good-on-its-climate-ambitions\">has committed<\/a> to becoming carbon negative by 2030, and ultimately removing from the environment all the carbon it has ever emitted by 2050.
