New national security legislation used to allow more time to scrutinise \u00a363m deal for Newport Wafer Fab<\/p>\n

The British government has delayed the decision on whether the UK\u2019s largest producer of semiconductors can be bought by a Chinese-owned manufacturer by another month and a half.<\/p>\n

The business secretary, Kwasi Kwarteng, had been expected to make a decision by Tuesday on the purchase of Newport Wafer Fab by Nexperia<\/a>, a Dutch firm wholly owned by China\u2019s Wingtech.<\/p>\n
