The cryptocurrency platform Celsius Network was left with a $1.2bn (\u00a31bn) deficit after suffering from a digital version of an old-fashioned \u201crun on the bank\u201d, according to its bankruptcy filing<\/a> in the US.<\/p>\n

Blaming a combination of its own poor decisions, a global \u201ccryptopocalypse\u201d and unfavourable media coverage, the company filed for Chapter 11 \u2013 a US process that allows companies to trade while restructuring their finances.<\/p>\n
