Twitter has blamed a drop in revenue on uncertainty around Elon Musk\u2019s chaotic takeover bid for the business<\/a> and weak advertising revenue.<\/p>\n

The social media company said revenue for the three months to 30 June was $1.18bn (\u00a3986m), a decline of 1% on the same period last year, which it said reflected \u201cadvertising industry headwinds associated with the macroenvironment\u201d as well as \u201cuncertainty related to the pending acquisition of Twitter\u201d by the Tesla chief executive.<\/p>\n
