Twitter\u2019s former head of security has accused the company of \u201cextreme, egregious deficiencies\u201d in its handling of user information and spam bots in a scathing whistleblower complaint.<\/p>\n

Peiter Zatko, a veteran hacker and security expert known as \u201cMudge\u201d, says the company has deceived users, board members and the federal government about the strength of its security measures. Zatko was hired<\/a> in 2020 by Twitter co-founder and then CEO Jack Dorsey to strengthen the company\u2019s security after a mass hack <\/a>targeted 130 highprofile Twitter accounts.<\/p>\n
