What if we are all trapped inside a shockingly realistic illusion? Would we really know if we were inside a video game? If you\u2019re looking for reassurance that we haven\u2019t yet reached the singularity, boot up the ropey Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet.<\/p>\n<p>In this second Pok\u00e9mon outing of the year, developer Game Freak abandons February\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/games\/2022\/feb\/10\/pokemon-legends-arceus-review-makes-even-old-school-fans-feel-childlike-again\">Legends: Arceus<\/a>\u2019s intriguing feudal-era setting, but otherwise picks up where it left off. It aims to take the series\u2019 expansive-yet-enclosed-environments to the next logical level: a seamless open world, where you can go where you want, catching and battling creatures as you travel.
