New court filing says ex-Theranos founder booked flight departing 26 January last year, shortly after fraud conviction<\/p>\n

The disgraced founder of Theranos,<\/a> Elizabeth Holmes, made an \u201cattempt to flee the country\u201d by purchasing a one-way ticket to Mexico after she was found guilty on four counts of fraud last January, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n

In the new filing<\/a> on Thursday, prosecutors said that \u201ccontrary to defendant\u2019s assertion that she has a \u2018flawless record with US Pretrial Services\u2019 and claim that no evidence suggests she will flee while she pursues her appeal \u2026 the incentive to flee has never been higher and defendant has the means to act on that incentive.\u201d<\/p>\n
