Workers at Amazon\u2019s huge Coventry depot described the \u201cstressful\u201d conditions inside as they staged a historic strike to demand pay of \u00a315 an hour \u2013 the first time the corporation has faced industrial action in the UK.<\/p>\n

The local GMB organiser Amanda Gearing said the action on Wednesday was \u201cmaking an impact\u201d, despite Amazon\u2019s insistence<\/a> that work was proceeding as usual inside the high-walled warehouse.<\/p>\n
